Vikram Phadnis’s Collection at Lakme Fashion Week 2013
Every designer does his best to get a celebrity as a showstopper and amuse the audience. But what if a designer gets 30 high profile people to walk for him? Well this was the scenario we saw at Lakme Fashion Week recently. Vikram Phadnis’s Collection at Lakme Fashion Week left the audiences settle with open jaws. The collection that was presented by the Swades Foundation, brought the essence of rural India on to the ramp.
All the ethnic apparels had embroidery done by village communities in Raigad & Ratnagiri. With a total of 70 gorgeous dresses inspired by sun and its glory, Viikram Phadnis displayed his stylish vision. The whole set up included kerosene lanters hanging from the ceiling along with a tint of warm lights. Each celebrity walked the ramp with a craftsman. Hues that relate to sun like red, orange, yellow, maroon, mustard, cream, beige and antique gold were used.
